You: “Hi, Nikita!”
There I said it. And (by gosh) published it, for all the world to know.
If you’re one of those nifty “plan ahead, always on deadline” type people, you are probably wondering how I manage a family and several successful businesses with such a dreadful habit.
The answer of course is delegation. If it were possible, delegation would be my answer for everything. Cooking, exercise, brushing my teeth . . . Oh, Jeeves? My good man, would you come here? Seriously though, I use any and all available resources to make “the magic” happen.
I was talking with Lori Johnson, my Get Clients Now! accountability partner, about some sales activities I needed to complete when we decided that I don’t have to be the one doing them.

It doesn’t take much to realize that working at home is more than a lifestyle decision. It is a major responsibility.
I was grumbling to a co-worker when it occurred to me. I had been the victim of a computer surf by! Someone (likely a teenager to whom I am related) had “borrowed” my computer without my knowledge. During their stay, MySpace Search Service took over the default search bar settings on my web browser.
It took about 25 minutes to research instructions and reset the default search bar settings in Firefox. Even so, I was slightly irritated. My boys have their own space completely outfitted with a color printer and all the pens, pencils, scissors and staples they could ever need. And, they are not encouraged to use my work PC. Nonetheless, the incident had some redeeming value.

I’m all about designing and organizing my home office lately. And, it has been more than a year in the making.
When we moved last year, I had to sell my handsome, yet functional HON (That spells quality for those of you who are not “in the know.”) executive corner desk with low hutch, multi-drawer unit and 2-drawer lateral file. You might have seen the Craigslist posting.
The desk was gi-nourmous and had distinctive style . . . plus, enough drawer/storage space to make Oprah jealous! Okay, maybe not that much, but it was alot of space. In fact, listen closely and you may hear Home Improvement’s Tim Allen grunting his signature “hrr, hrr, hrr” right now.
Anyway, I’ve suffered this last year with a small spec of a rectangle and a 5-shelf ’over the door’ wire hanging system. Yeah, the kind in your kitchen pantry.
Then, after months of searching for just the right desk to fit my awkward and relatively small home office space, IKEA entered my life.
