Staying Visible with Your Most Underutilized Tech Tool

For work at home professionals, the nature of our “workplace” can be . . . well, a barrier. Traditional work relationships are based on manning a desk or cubicle in an office. Colleagues pool resources to produce, sell and maintain a product or service. When you work at home or on the go, “out of sight, out of mind” can easily prevail. Whether you are a home-based entrepreneur or a telecommuter, you don’t want to be forgotten by clients or colleagues.

Letter Me Later: Send E-Mails at a Future Date

There is a great tool available called LetterMeLater which allows you to queue e-mail messages to be sent for a future date. It’s great for when a client or colleague asks me to send them an e-mail in a week on a task he or she needs to complete. Rather than writing a to-do to send the email on the appropriate date and time, get the to-do done now by queuing the message in LetterMeLater.

If It Ain’t Broke, It Will Be

You work at home. What one thing would you say you could not live without?

No. Not your ever-faithful pet who keeps you company when you work long nights. I’m sure she’s a very close second, but I am referring to your computer, of course! Whether you’re a Right Clicka’ or an iBook Flipper, (That’s PC or Mac user for you old school folks.) you want your computer humming like a new BMW.
